The system is designed to provide isolation, flow control, status read out, monitoring and general control of the processes involving the high pressure testing of samples in the test cell chambers of the Tri-axial units (the actual “name” of the test cell is unclear).
Function of Test / Tri-axial Reactors
The test cells are for saturation of rock samples (with super critical water / super critical CO2 and other media) inside the high pressure / temperature reactor for duration of 24-48 days. Maximum pressure inside the reactor will be 85MPa and temperature 800deg F. Not all of the equipment will be subject to these conditions but due to the long operation duration a considerable safety factor is required. Higher temperatures will de-rate pressure capability of the equipment and tubing will be suitable for the maximum pressure and temperature rating (60Kpsi minimum). As the Pressure and Temperature indicators and transducers will be located close to the reactors it is important to retrieve accurate data and safe performance of the equipment.
To measure the effects of various media at high pressure and temperature on endomorphic substrata formations including sedimentary and shale and the geolithic impacts relating to geothermic activity and intervention by extractions and harvesting bi-products and dispersal of entrapped cretaceous gases and liquids. Using known Lithology and Petrology study techniques giving a determination of probable ancient reactions to these involvements and allow presentation of various papers that may be beneficial to the science of global warming and consumption minimisation to provide potential commercial application.
To study and measure the effects of various media at high pressure and temperature on rock formations and the impacts relating to geological activity and intervention by extraction of bi-products and dispersal of hydrocarbon gases and liquids. Using known techniques to give a determination of probable reactions to these involvements and allow presentation of various papers that may be beneficial to the science and to provide potential commercial applications.
